recording, and adjust the gain knob on your interface / preamp until the 
loudest peaks hit -6. In reality, even this is a bit too loud. Cheaper 
preamps / converters work better when the average level is around -18dB, 
not -3. At -18, you&#039;re guaranteed not to get clipping if something 
unexpectedly loud happens. It&#039;s better to record quiet and turn up than 
record loud and turn down.]]></description>
