But, It totally depends on the actual sound. (No matter what instrument)

Question: Ive used limiters as a final unit in my lead vox before, which has worked nicely for some projects. Im interested as to what is used more often to push lead vox just that last bit, would it be parallel compression or limiting?
Id assume parallel compression would help adding a subtle bit more of character to the vox than limiting it??
